Recession and Insecurity !!

In these recent times of recession , a lot of people are gripped with the fear of insecurity . This insecurity clearly reflects in people's work. It has really made me wonder which are the kinds who are most insecure in such times. I have been observing people's conversations very deeply and have realised ,people with less exposure to things other than their jobs, people who look at their jobs as 9-5 work are the most insecure. These are the people who have no identity other than their work.Where as people having vision larger than themselves are looking at ways to create new Business Models. Individuals who have confidence in their capability and faith in their relationships are not that perturped . For them it's definitely a set back but also an opportunity to invent new ways of doing business. The curious minds are even more curious. The Mad are even madder... This is the time we will have disruptive Business Models ,which completely change the economy . Just wait and watch.

Yeah, completely agree with you. It's a pain to see people losing their jobs, but it's a bigger pain to see them grappling with their lost identity after losing the job.

Also makes me question how dependent I am on my job to create and build my identity. Thanks!

agree with you Tazeen... even though this is most difficult time; this is a time when the new business ideas with out of the box thinking come out as a winner... as they say the opportunity is hidden in the adversity :-)
Being a servant/employee it is obvious to get feeling of job insecurity, especially for all those who do not have any “Plan B” in place. Since last year I had been working on a brilliant business project apart from my regular IT job... at times it was frustrating as I used to have no leisure because of this... but today in this difficult economical times I am realizing & reaping the benefits of all the hard work I had been doing. I don’t feel dependant on my job anymore… sooner the people realize that they are capable of doing much bigger things than only doing regular job… it’s just a matter of stepping out of their comfort zone, sooner they will unlock the potential hidden inside them which leads to the world of unlimited possibilities…. Thank you for reminding me this through this article!
